Official WA State Knowledge TestWe offer the official WA State written exam required to get a driver's license. All tests are done by appointment only.
Before booking an appointment, please make sure you have a License Express account and can log in to that account through the WA State Department of Licensing website. If you do not have an account, you can create one for free by clicking the link below.
If you have a License Express account and can log in, please feel free to book an appointment with the link below. The $30 fee (not including tax) will be paid when you arrive for your appointment.

How much does it cost?
- The written exam costs $30 (not including tax) per attempt.
- Make sure to thoroughly study the WA State driver guide before you show up for your exam!!
Who is eligible to take the written exam?
- You must be at least 15-1/2 years old
- You must have created and be able to log in to your WA State DOL License Express account.
- You must have a WA State ID number (get an ID#).
- If you are currently enrolled in driver's ed (and are under 15-1/2), you must have completed the classroom portion of the course.
What can I expect for the test?
- 40 multiple-choice questions.
- You must answer at least 32 correctly to pass.
- The testing session is 1-hour long.
- Only one attempt per testing session.
- The test is done on a computer.
